Refunds and Returns Policy

We intend and believe our Methods and Terms of Business to be fair and reasonable, and nothing in the above will affect the statutory rights or obligations of either buyer or seller.

A) Damaged or faulty goods

We aim to give the best possible service, and every care is taken in fulfilling orders, but in the event of any error of ours in making up a consignment, please notify us immediately, when the matter will at once be put right - either by the sending of further trees, or, if these are then unavailable, by adjustment of payment. If a parcel arrives damaged, then we would advise either rejecting it unseen or ask the driver to wait whilst you verify that the contents are OK or damaged, before signing as received. We can't take a damage claim any further if goods have been signed for as in good condition. Also, when goods are being bought unseen, we feel it right that customers should be free to reject any trees which are genuinely unacceptable for any reason, so please check and inspect your trees carefully on arrival, and let us know within 3 days if any query or complaint then arises - for we cannot be responsible for failures or mishaps occurring weeks or months later, by which time so many circumstances quite beyond our control or knowledge are likely to have had a bearing on the matter. We may request the return of any rejected goods and will advise on suitable re-packaging and also arrange for the collection of the goods at our cost.

B) "I've changed my mind" returns

It may be that you may no longer require plants or goods that you have ordered and, provided they are returned to us within 21 days of despatch in perfect condition with original labelling, packaging and Weasdale Nurseries receipted invoice (or copy), we will give a prompt refund. Notice of cancellation must be given in durable form (e-mail, telefax or letter) within 7 days of despatch. As Packing & Carriage charged includes the packing service, such refunds will include 50% of the Packing & Carriage charge made on your original invoice. No administration or re-stocking charge will be made against returned goods. All return carriage costs are to be met by you, the customer but, if required, we can arrange collection and return of these goods and will advise you of the costs and then take payment ahead of collection. Please be aware that, particularly as plants are of a perishable nature, it remains your duty to look after the goods properly and to pack them sufficiently well to ensure their arrival back at Weasdale in perfect condition. This includes, but is not limited to, making sure that they are kept moist, free from frost and away from livestock or vermin. If goods are returned damaged or dead, we will supply photographic evidence and reserve the right to make either a partial or no refund.

If an order is cancelled before it has been despatched, there will be no cancellation costs.

Where non-stock goods (ie those not listed in our catalogue or on our website) have been ordered as a special order, the above cancellation conditions will not apply and, in such instances, we will advise the costs of cancellation on a case-by-case basis.
