Fuchsia 'Riccartonii'
This is the hardiest of the hardier Fuchsia hybrids and will grow outside anywhere. In frost-free coastal areas it can, if required, be allowed to build up year by year into quite a large bush; but inland it is better to cut it back hard annually in March, when new growths will spring up vigorously to bear the neat scarlet and purple pendulous flowers from July onwards until the autumn frosts. Almost any soil is suitable, but a warm sunny spot should preferably be allowed to these plants.
